NC Education Partners

Purpose

The goal of NC Education Partners is to support, strengthen, and expand the collective impact of a network of locally-based education organizations across our state that are working in their communities to bring business leaders, elected officials, educators, and nonprofits together to support their local public schools.

Overview of Program

NC Education Partners provides a platform for sharing information and promising practices and creates opportunities for collaboration among local education organizations in North Carolina. The Public School Forum serves as the convener and facilitator of this group and provides expertise in state-level education legislation and education research. As participants, partner organizations have the opportunity to discuss what is happening in their communities, learn more about key issues in state-level education policy, share and generate ideas to expand their efforts to support local school systems, and consider ways they could work together to advance public education in North Carolina.

RT @Lys_Morrison If you are following #nced and #PathwaystoExcellence work of #PEPSC, #SBE, review the focus group results from @theNCForum. I appreciate their efforts to facilitate feedback from a broad range of stakeholders--now we need space to act on it. ncforum.org/2022/pathways/

As we face a severe teacher workforce shortage, we have the opportunity to increase teacher pay significantly in this budget. Beginning teachers will only make $37,000 on the state pay scale in the proposal. Veteran teachers will only receive small increases. We must do more. twitter.com/newsobserver/s…

RT @JustinParmenter If you haven't taken a look at @theNCForum's focus group feedback collection, it's excellent. The Forum assembled groups of principals, BOE members, district staff, etc. to talk about strengths and challenges of the current model. #nced #ncpol ncforum.org/2022/public-sc…
