Rachel Huber-Jones is the Senior Administrator for Secondary Social Studies within the Wake County Public School System. In her role, she leads the development and implementation of social studies curriculums, facilitates professional learning across the district, and supports social studies instruction in any capacity she can. Rachel has also previously served as a social studies teacher and instructional coach within WCPSS. Rachel earned her BA in Adolescence Ed. in Social Studies from SUNY Cortland, M.Ed. in K-12 Literacy from UNC Chapel Hill, and Master’s Certificate in Education Administration from Appalachian State University. Rachel spent her childhood living in a variety of places including Wisconsin, Iowa, and upstate New York, and has lived in North Carolina for the last 18 years. Her advocacy stems from a desire for all students to be provided high quality, literacy driven, social studies and civic education, to ensure they are best prepared to thrive in our global society. Rachel resides in Zebulon, NC with her husband, two children, and two rambunctious dogs.
