Explore Our Resources

The Public School Forum offers many resources for those interested in learning about education policy in North Carolina. Many can be found using our top navigation bar above; below are some quick links to our most popular programs and publications.

  • Top Education Issues. For more than twenty-five years, the Public School Forum of North Carolina has published an annual list of the top issues that we believe should or will likely be at the forefront of conversations around K-12 public education policy in the upcoming year.
  • Local School Finance Study. For more than 30 years the Public School Forum has isolated state and federal spending to examine the capacity and effort counties make to support their schools.
  • North Carolina Education Primer. The Primer serves as a fact-based introduction to educational policymaking in NC. It also serves as a primary resource for current elected and appointed officials — as well as candidates running for public office — as they tackle education policy issues in the General Assembly, in their local communities, or in their schools.
  • Education Matters. A weekly look at the real stories and real people in education across North Carolina. Airs on WRAL-TV, UNC-TV and Fox50.
  • Our Newsletters. Stay in touch with all that is happening at the Forum and with our various centers! Subscribe to our newsletters by clicking here.
