Raleigh, NC (May 23, 2025) – It is with deep appreciation and respect that the Board of Directors of the Public School Forum announces the departure of our esteemed Executive Director, Dr. Mary Ann Wolf, effective June 30, 2025. This marks a bittersweet moment for the organization as it celebrates her profound impact and prepares for a new chapter.
Since joining the Forum at the height of the pandemic, Mary Ann has led with unwavering dedication, vision, and resilience, guiding the organization through unprecedented challenges while fostering remarkable growth over the past five years. During Mary Ann’s tenure, the Forum’s reach has expanded dramatically, supporting educators and students from Elizabeth City-Pasquotank to Jackson County and nearly everywhere in between.
Under her leadership, the Public School Forum has strengthened its commitment to advancing equitable education opportunities, broadening its impact, and deepening connections with key stakeholders. Mary Ann has cultivated invaluable relationships with educators, legislators, funders, and community partners, ensuring that our mission remains at the forefront of policy discussions and educational advancements.
Her ability to bring people together, champion meaningful initiatives, and inspire a collective pursuit of excellence has left a lasting mark on the Forum and the broader education landscape. While we are saddened to see her move on to new endeavors, we remain profoundly grateful for her dedication, leadership, and the extraordinary contributions she has made to our organization and the communities we serve.
As the Public School Forum of NC approaches its 40th year, the organization is profoundly grateful for how Mary Ann’s leadership has strategically positioned it to further deepen its impact in the years to come. Our Board of Directors and our staff are excited for what Mary Ann’s future chapter holds and the new ways she will undoubtedly continue her important work for kids and educators. We wish her the very best in all that lies ahead.
The Board hopes to appoint an interim executive director in the next two weeks.
