Dr. Julius Monk is the deputy superintendent of business and operations for Guilford County Schools (GCS), a position he has held since June 2023. Dr. Monk has over two decades of business and operations experience in two large North Carolina public school districts, during which he has been responsible for managing over $3 billion in bond referendums. As deputy superintendent, Dr. Monk has the pleasure of leading GCS’s human resources, finance, transportation, school nutrition, building services, safety and security, and technology departments. Dr. Monk holds a B.S. in Construction Management from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, a Master of Entrepreneurship from Western Carolina University, and a Doctor of Education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
