With great enthusiasm the Public School Forum Board of Directors announces the appointment of Ann W. McColl as Interim President and Executive Director of the Forum effective July 1.
Ann brings a distinguished history of leadership, innovation and advocacy within public education in North Carolina. This follows her leadership as President and Co-Founder of The Innovation Project (TIP). Her extensive background includes service as General Counsel of the NCAE, Legislative Director for the North Carolina State Board of Education, Associate Professor at UNC-Charlotte and multiple adjunct positions including at UNC Chapel Hill Schools of Law and Education. Ann has demonstrated the ability to unite diverse voices and has an unwavering dedication to fostering partnerships. This appointment comes at a pivotal time as we seek to find a leader to follow the exemplary leadership Mary Ann Wolf has provided the Forum over the past 5 years. As the Public School Forum of NC approaches its 40th year, the organization is profoundly grateful for how Mary Ann’s leadership has strategically positioned it to further deepen its impact in the years to come. Chair-Elect Bill Harrison stated, “We thank Mary Ann for all she has done for the Forum, she will be missed. I am excited to work with Ann at this significant time in the Public School Forum’s history. We have worked closely since 1992 and I have long admired Ann’s skills, vision, strategic thinking, innovative spirit, dedication, and her collaborative approach. I have complete confidence in Ann’s leadership and her ability to strengthen our organization during this next chapter.”
