Amanda Clayton is a Partner at Transcend with 15+ years of experience at the intersection of instruction, technology, and systems leadership. She partners with schools and districts to design learning environments that advance their vision for academics, classroom culture, and durable skills. Her work starts from the belief that our vision for students should shape technology use, not the other way around.
Previously, as Director of Digital Content and Instruction for Wake County Public School System, Amanda led a district-wide LMS adoption that supported 160,000 students through the COVID-19 pandemic. Later, as Director of Learning Platform at Gradient Learning, she scaled digital curriculum and custom tools across more than 100 schools nationwide. Amanda began her career teaching middle school and has also served as an instructional coach and university lecturer.
A Certified Education Technology Leader (CETL), Amanda holds a Master’s in Technology in Education from the University of Michigan–Flint, alongside a Bachelor’s degree and School Leadership certificate from Appalachian State University, where she was a North Carolina Teaching Fellow.
Outside of work, Amanda volunteers with youth-centered causes, from early childhood development to service learning. She enjoys live music and spending time with her spouse and two children.
