Emily Webb is beginning her 15th year in education and serves as the Exceptional Children and Compliance Coordinator at Brevard Academy, a public charter school in Pisgah Forest, North Carolina. Her career began with Transylvania County Schools, where she worked in an elementary after-school program before becoming a teacher assistant and later moving into classroom teaching. She is starting her fifth year at Brevard Academy and her fourth year in her EC and compliance leadership role.
In addition to coordinating Exceptional Children services, Emily serves as Brevard Academy’s Testing Coordinator, EVAAS Coordinator, School Improvement Process Manager, and serves as an MTSS Consultant. She also serves on the school’s Policy and Governance and Finance Committees, which have strengthened her interest in school leadership, sustainable funding, community partnerships, and public charter-school advocacy.
Emily will graduate from Appalachian State University in December with a Master of School Administration degree and is exploring doctoral programs for fall 2027. She is passionate about inclusive practices, educator development, accessibility, and individualized support for students with disabilities. Through the Education Policy Fellowship, Emily hopes to gain tools to advocate for inclusion, equitable public-school funding, and reasonable school-choice options that expand high-quality opportunities for North Carolina students and families.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys gardening, exploring the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her pets.
