Dr. Tina Sayuri Johnson is an Associate Professor of Leadership Studies at High Point University and founder of TSFJ Consulting LLC, bringing 26 years of leadership experience across education, higher education, and executive coaching. Before joining HPU, she spent 22 years with Guilford County Schools in roles ranging from Japanese language teacher to principal. At HPU, she has led major leadership development initiatives, including scaling the Siegfried Leadership Fellows Program to more than 700 students and supporting accreditation efforts through the university’s Quality Enhancement Plan. Her research focuses on leadership trauma, recovery, and resilience, while her consulting work helps leaders and organizations strengthen effectiveness, trust, and change leadership through executive coaching, strategic planning, and leadership development. Since 2009, she has delivered more than 1,000 coaching engagements and has led measurable improvements in engagement, attendance, and organizational culture. Dr. Johnson holds degrees from UNC Wilmington, UNC Greensboro, and High Point University, including an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, and maintains North Carolina licensure as a teacher, principal, and superintendent.
