Dr. Carrie Lynn Brewington is an educational leader, instructional coach, and consultant with more than 24 years of experience in K–12 education. She currently serves as an instructional coach with the North Carolina New Teacher Support Program at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and as adjunct faculty, where she develops and teaches graduate coursework in instructional coaching. Carrie is also the founder of Impact Learning Group, providing educational consulting, professional development, and instructional support to schools and organizations.
Carrie previously served with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction as a School Support Coach and Science Coach, supporting educators and leaders in low-performing and rural schools. She earned an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from UNC Wilmington and is a National Board Certified Teacher. Her doctoral research examined principal leadership and school improvement in rural, low-performing Title I secondary schools in southeastern North Carolina.
Throughout her career, Carrie has remained committed to strengthening educator capacity, supporting beginning teachers, and improving opportunities for students in rural and underserved communities. She believes meaningful and sustainable school improvement begins by building the capacity and collective efficacy of the educators who serve students each day.
