An Education Program Administrator with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction’s Office of Federal Programs, where she supports the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program. She has served with NCDPI since 2007 in several capacities, including Education Licensure Specialist and Educator Advancement Coordinator. Throughout her tenure, she has supported statewide initiatives including National Board Certification, Teacher Assistant-to-Teacher programs, and the Milken Educator Awards.
Ms. Kimbrough brings more than 30 years of experience in public education, program administration, policy implementation, grants and compliance, and stakeholder engagement. Throughout her career, she has cultivated strong relationships while providing guidance, technical assistance, and program oversight to public school units, institutions of higher education, community organizations, educators, colleagues, and other education stakeholders. Her professional experience has given her a unique perspective on how state and federal education policies move from policy to practice and ultimately impact the students, educators, and communities they are designed to serve.
Ms. Kimbrough holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services/Criminal Justice and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. She has called Wake Forest, North Carolina, home since 2005, but proudly remains “Boston Strong,” having been born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts.
