
Dr. Kristin Edwards is the Director of Digital Teaching & Learning and Chief Information Officer for Burke County Public Schools in Morganton, North Carolina. A Morganton native, she has dedicated more than 20 years to serving the Burke County community in roles including elementary and middle school teacher, instructional technology facilitator, assistant principal, principal, and postsecondary success coordinator.
She earned her degree in Elementary Education from Lees-McRae College, a Master’s in Instructional Technology and Media from Appalachian State University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University. In addition to her district leadership, Dr. Edwards teaches as an adjunct instructor in the MAIT Program at Gardner-Webb University.
Dr. Edwards is a supporter of public education and believes in its power and accessibility for all children. She advocates for student responsible and ethical use of technology and digital resources to help them grow into successful, productive members of their communities.
