
Katherine is a high school math teacher in Durham Public Schools with a passion for helping students see the power and relevance of mathematics. She was previously serving as a math teacher and department head in Oakland, California, after earning her M.A. in Mathematics Education from Stanford University. Originally from Burlington, NC., Katherine holds education in her home state close to her heart. She believes education is a vital pathway for social mobility and is dedicated to ensuring that all students recognize the value math can bring to their futures. Katherine also holds a B.S. in Finance from UNC Wilmington. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, and roller skating.
