Fatimah Cruz

Fatimah Cruz educator for over 20 years, began her journey as a preschool teacher and later earned a B.A in English 6-12 with a Cross-cultural, Language, and Academic Development (CLAD) Certification and an MFA in Creative Writing with an emphasis in Poetry at National University in San Diego, CA. As her aspirations grew she also earned a Master’s of Arts in Educational Leadership at Gardner-Webb University, where she is currently working on a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership.

During her past 13 years in Wake County, Fatimah has been an English teacher, Tennis Coach, Theatre Advisor, Teacher Mentor and the list goes on. This has allowed her the privilege of working with students and educators from various ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.

Throughout her personal and professional journey, her passion has been with multilingual education. She attributes that to being raised in a multilingual family and city(San Diego), where she has spent her life surrounded by the beauty and injustices that come with it. Her goal is to ensure that all students regardless of language and ethnicity receive an equitable education.
