Sophia is a policy analyst at EdNC, a nonprofit newsroom that covers North Carolina’s education news and policy. Born and raised in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Sophia is committed to sharing the stories of people who make her home state a better place to live, learn, and work.
Sophia earned a master’s degree in public policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she also also holds majors in Hispanic literature and policy analysis. Outside of work, you can find Sophia hanging out with her senior cat, Sugar, trying out a new coffee shop in Raleigh, or planning her next trip.
