Jamie Fernandez-Schendt is a Strategy Coach and Program Manager at Participate Learning. A former social studies teacher who also held school and district leadership roles, Jamie brings over a decade of experience in Wake, Chapel Hill-Carrboro, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools. He is deeply passionate about civic engagement and equipping students to be change-makers in their communities. In his current role, Jamie partners with school leaders and educators to implement the Global Leaders framework in ways that empower students to become globally minded and future ready. His work centers on building staff capacity, fostering student agency, and ensuring that schools are spaces where young people are prepared to lead and make meaningful impacts in their world. Jamie currently resides in Durham, North Carolina, with his husband and their new puppy, Boone.
