Sarah Reeves serves as Chief Academic Officer for Cabarrus County Schools. Her career in education has included roles as a teacher, instructional facilitator, principal, director, and assistant superintendent, along with experience in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Teach For America.
Sarah feels fortunate to work alongside dedicated educators, school leaders, families, and community partners to support meaningful learning opportunities for every student. In her current role, she has contributed to collaborative efforts such as expanding play-based learning in kindergarten, launching North Carolina’s first high school Healthcare Innovation Microschool in partnership with The Pearl, and strengthening literacy instruction across the district. She is especially proud of the collective work of Cabarrus County Schools’ students and staff, whose commitment has contributed to historic gains in grade-level proficiency and graduation rates that remain above the state average.
Outside of work, Sarah is a wife and mother to two children, ages two and eight, who are the light of her life and keep her wonderfully busy. After her daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, Sarah became involved with Breakthrough T1D and is grateful for opportunities to support other young families, raise awareness, and advocate for continued research toward a cure. When she finds a little time to recharge, she enjoys reading, traveling, shopping, and playing mahjong.
