Ronald Dixon Jr. is currently the Assistant Superintendent for School Improvement for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. His work focuses on supporting school improvement efforts for all public schools and districts throughout NC. Prior to this role, he was the Executive Director of Secondary Schools in the Rowan-Salisbury School System in North Carolina. Prior to district leadership, Ronald served as a middle and elementary school principal for 9 years and has a total of 24 years in NC public education. His specialty areas are instructional leadership, equity & justice, community and faith-based collaboration, and school transformation leadership. He has been recognized for his success in raising student achievement and closing disproportionate discipline gaps in multiple schools by empowering educational leaders with practical and culturally relevant tools to ensure the success of all students.
