Molly Todd is a high school self-contained special education teacher in Wake County Public Schools. Born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina, Molly earned her Bachelor of Arts in Adapted Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During her time at UNC Charlotte, her Urban Youth and Community minor helped ignite her passion for advocacy and reinforced her belief that meaningful change begins within the community, whether on a small or large scale.
Molly’s passion for fearlessly advocating for students with disabilities began during her own middle and high school years, when she first discovered the impact educators and advocates can have on students’ lives. Today, she carries that passion into her classroom and throughout her school community, working to create meaningful opportunities for inclusion, belonging, and student success.
In March 2026, Molly was named North Carolina’s Beginning Teacher of the Year, recognizing her dedication to her students, her commitment to inclusive education, and the impact of her work within her school community. She continues to advocate for students with disabilities and empower others to recognize their strengths, voices, and potential.
