Michelle Harger serves as the Director of Support Services for Asheboro City Schools, where she provides district-level leadership in student support. Her career in education has included roles as an exceptional children’s educator, classroom teacher, instructional facilitator, school administrator, and district leader, giving her a broad perspective on how educational policy translates into practice and impacts students, families, and educators.
Michelle earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ashford University and a Master of Education and Post-Master’s Certificate in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is currently pursuing an EdS/EdD in Educational Leadership with Superintendent Licensure at Appalachian State University.
Her professional interests include educational equity, student belonging, supportive learning environments, and effective educational policy. Michelle is especially passionate about creating systems that ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed. Outside of work and her doctoral studies, Michelle can be found reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband of nearly 15 years and her two sons, who provide both inspiration and perspective for her work in education.
