Mark Townley is the Associate Director of the Kenan Fellows Program for Teacher Leadership out of NC State University. KFP invests in teachers to help build stronger connections, pathways for workforce development, and supports that strengthen communities. Mark has been with KFP for 9 years, and was previously a high school Earth/Environmental, AP Environmental, and AP Research teacher for 20 years in Lee and Wake county. While in the classroom, Mark worked with multiple state agencies to create North Carolina specific curricula and professional development, and advocated for the teaching profession serving on the Governor’s Teacher Advisory Committee under former Governor Roy Cooper. As an NCSU alumni, Mark lives in the Raleigh area in a house divided with two UNC grads with his wife and oldest son, and the youngest son currently attending NCSU.
