LaTresha Wilson is a Charlotte, North Carolina native with 22 years of experience in public education. She is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University who later earned a Master’s degree in School Administration from Gardner-Webb University. She currently serves as the principal of Tuckaseegee Elementary School in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
Her leadership and commitment to educational excellence have earned numerous recognitions, including being named the 2026 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Principal of the Year, the 2026 Wells Fargo Southwest Region Principal of the Year, and the 2026 North Carolina Principals and Assistant Principals’ Association (NCPAPA) Elementary Principal of the Year. She also serves on the NCPAPA Board of Directors.
Known for her supportive and collaborative leadership style, Mrs. Wilson is deeply committed to developing both students and educators. She finds great joy in mentoring, inspiring, and motivating others, particularly fellow educators, working mothers, and emerging leaders. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and is passionate about serving her community.
Mrs. Wilson is a servant leader whose life’s calling is to change the trajectory of lives through education. She believes that every child is uniquely gifted and deserves access to high-quality learning experiences that honor their strengths, nurture their potential, and inspire them to achieve their dreams. Guided by her core values of Love, Learn, and Lead, she views education as a fundamental human right with the power to impact generations.
Outside of her professional work, Mrs. Wilson enjoys spending time with her family, learning and creating new things. She is a proud wife and mother of three boys and considers her family to be one of her greatest blessings.
