Jaime Ceballos is a dedicated advocate for education and community empowerment, residing from Roxboro, North Carolina. He holds a B.S. in Parks Recreation Management with a concentration in Community Recreation Event Planning, and a B.A. in Communication Studies from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). Currently in his third year as a college adviser with the Duke College Advising Corps, Jaime supports students at his alma mater, Person High School. In addition, he works with North Carolina Central University’s TRIO Upward Bound program, further extending his impact on his high school community. His efforts focus on creating opportunities for first-generation, low-income, and marginalized students, ensuring they have access to higher education and career readiness resources. Jaime has played a pivotal role in establishing the first Latinx/Hispanic Scholarship in Person County, NC, demonstrating his commitment to educational equity. As a former TRIO student himself, he brings a personal understanding of the importance of mentorship and support. Jaime leverages his experiences to provide comprehensive academic and career guidance, striving to empower every student to achieve their full potential. His mission is to listen, learn, and educate others to better bridge the gaps that rural communities need.
