Kristin Baillie serves as the District Behavior Specialist and MTSS Coordinator for Edenton-Chowan Public Schools. With two decades of experience as a North Carolina educator, she is a passionate advocate for environments grounded in equity, cultural responsiveness, and the recognition of students’ full humanity. In her current position, Kristin is focused on continuous improvement initiatives that prioritize cognitive justice, social-emotional learning, restorative practices, and community resilience. She is also pursuing her Doctor of Education at Arizona State University, where her research examines how identity-affirming counternarrative practices can disrupt exclusionary patterns.
Kristin’s goal is to connect research and policy to reimagine public education, creating solutions that address modern student needs while fostering educator growth and well-being. She is currently exploring the power of gathering, drawing inspiration from Priya Parker’s work on how intentional convening can transform connection, purpose, and collaboration in schools and communities. She likes to say she gets daily field experience by negotiating everything from dinner plans to screen time with her five children, who have always been her toughest audience and greatest joy.
