Kathryn Hutchinson, principal at North Wake College and Career Academy, has dedicated more than 30 years to education, teaching in communities across Cameroon, Arkansas, Virginia, and North Carolina. When moving into administration, she made an intentional choice to lead magnet schools in Wake County. She has had the joy of serving as a principal at every level, including elementary, middle, and now at an early college high school. As a school leader, Kathryn is most passionate about creating spaces where the voices of students, staff, and families are truly heard. Drawing on practices from Community Circles and Restorative Justice, she focuses on building systems rooted in intentionality, where meaningful learning and growth can flourish. In addition to her professional commitments, Kathryn and her husband, a fellow public school educator, are proud to have raised their family with shared dedication to public education.
