Dr. Sarah Cannon serves as the Director of the Office of Professional Education for NC State University’s College of Education. A proud product of North Carolina public schools, Sarah has earned bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology and English from UNC-Greensboro, a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from East Carolina University, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from NC State University. In addition to working with aspiring educators across disciplines, Sarah has had the privilege of teaching secondary English in Wake and Durham counties. She passionately believes in every student’s potential to succeed and their right to an equitable, high-quality education. Sarah lives in Durham, NC with her husband and two sons. In her spare time, you can find her shuttling herself or her family members to sporting activities across the triangle, taking full advantage of the public library, or starting (and quickly stopping) a variety of new hobbies.
