Dr. Darrell A. Harris Jr. serves as the Proud Principal of Eastern Guilford High School in Guilford County Schools, where he champions a vision of academic excellence, student belonging, and continuous improvement. With more than 17 years in public education, Dr. Harris has built a career centered on expanding opportunities and improving outcomes for all students.
Dr. Harris was recognized as the 2025 Guilford County Schools Principal of the Year and was subsequently named the 2026 Piedmont Triad Region Principal of the Year. Under his leadership, Eastern Guilford High School has achieved a 91% graduation rate and recorded its strongest End-of-Course assessment performance since the 2021-22 school year, reflecting a sustained commitment to high expectations, collaborative leadership, and student success.
Known for his relationship-centered leadership approach, Dr. Harris is passionate about developing educators, empowering student leaders, and fostering school cultures where every individual is valued and challenged to excel.
