Dr. Casey Wooten serves as Principal of Frederick Douglass Elementary School in Wilson County Schools, a recognized STEM School of Distinction. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s degree in School Administration, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
As a school leader, Dr. Wooten is passionate about improving student outcomes through strong instructional leadership, positive school culture, meaningful family engagement, and the development of effective educators. She is committed to creating equitable opportunities for students and strengthening the connection between educational leadership, practice, and policy. Through the Educational Policy Fellowship Program, she looks forward to deepening her understanding of how educational policy can support schools, educators, students, and the communities they serve.
Outside of her professional work, Dr. Wooten enjoys spending time with her husband, Mark, traveling, and relaxing with a good book.
