Derek Lisowski is the Senior Military Instructor at Watauga High School for the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (MCJROTC). The MCJROTC program is designed to instill in high school students the values of citizenship, service to the United States, personal responsibility, and a sense of accomplishment. Before entering into education, Derek served in the Marine Corps and retired after 22 years of service. Derek earned his BA in Organizational Leadership from The University of Charleston, WV. Derek was born in Ohio, but lived in various locations across the United States. His desire is to lead, mentor, and coach the next generation of Americans. Derek lives in Vilas, NC with his wife and two children.
