Cason is a World History teacher at Swansboro High School in Onslow County, where he has served students for 14 years. He also coached baseball for 11 years and leads a Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter with more than 200 students participating each Friday. A North Carolina Teaching Fellow and graduate of NC State University, Cason currently serves as North Carolina Teacher of the Year. His work focuses on student opportunity and access, recruiting and retaining exceptional teachers, combating student food insecurity, and ‘celebrating the good’ in North Carolina’s public schools. Above all, he is most proud to be Nikki’s husband and Bishop’s dad.
