Virginia Lee

Virginia Lee is an ESL Teacher at Spring Creek Elementary School in Goldsboro, NC. She graduated Meredith College in Raleigh, NC where she earned a BA in Psychology and an Early Childhood Teaching Certificate (K-4). Additionally, she holds a NC license to teach ESL (K-12). Virginia has been in education for 21 years. Throughout her career, she has served in the following roles: Elementary Classroom Teacher, Parent Involvement Coordinator, and Title 1 Tutor. Currently, she holds the position of an Elementary ESL Teacher. Virginia works with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Through her experiences, she is aware of the fact that systemic barriers—such as limited language access, under-resourced programs, and inequitable assessment practices—can impact students’ educational experiences. She is elated to have the opportunity to learn how educational policies can be shaped to better support equity, access, and opportunity for all learners. Virginia is native to North Carolina. She has two grown sons, and loves spoiling her two beagle-mix dogs.
