Alexis Hawk currently serves as the Advocacy & Membership Engagement Coordinator for the North Carolina Association of School Administrators (NCASA), where she supports advocacy and engagement efforts on behalf of North Carolina’s public school leaders.
Alexis began her career in education as a Teach For America corps member, teaching foundational literacy and special education at a charter school in Memphis, Tennessee. Her experiences in the classroom and in youth programming shaped her interest in addressing the root issues affecting public education and advancing policies that provide schools and students with the resources and support they need to succeed.
Alexis holds a Bachelor’s degree in United States History and Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree in Education from Christian Brothers University. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Education Policy and Leadership at American University to deepen her understanding of education policy and become a more effective advocate for North Carolina’s public schools.
