Ashley Allen

Ashley Allen is currently the Co-Executive Director of Read 2 Succeed. Driven by her experiences as a public school teacher, executive director of a literacy nonprofit, and a Black woman, Ashley is dedicated to meaningfully improving inclusivity, accessibility, and equity in education.

Ashley Allen champions community-powered literacy as a path to meaningfully improving inclusivity, accessibility, and equity in education. And, as a firm believer in that community power, Ashley approaches her work with a focus on individual and collective strength, as well as the courage necessary for transparent communication. Her classroom mantras were, “community is give and get” and “you can do hard things,”and these refrains continue to guide her professional endeavors. She remains committed to fostering authentic relationships, even when they require navigating complex challenges.

Ashley’s diverse professional background includes expertise in education policy and practice, academic data analysis, intervention development, operational and executive leadership, cross-sector collaboration, and organizational culture building.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Ashley enjoys reading, DiamondArt, rollerblading, and playing Dungeons & Dragons with her friends.  She’s thrilled to bring her values to the work she does by grounding those around her in practical guidance, rooting them in expansive vision, and planting them in a belief in themselves.
