
Stacey Diaz is a Chicana educator, first-generation college graduate, and lifelong learner. Born in Los Angeles and now based in North Carolina, she began her journey at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in history. She went on to earn both a master’s and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in counselor education from Clemson University.
With more than a decade of experience in education, Stacey has served as both a school counselor and a district ESL counselor, supporting students across elementary, middle, and high school settings. She currently serves as the school counselor at Cabarrus Early College of Technology, where she implements a comprehensive school counseling program to support students’ academic, social-emotional, and career development as they prepare for life beyond high school.
Stacey is deeply committed to increasing access to higher education and helping all students know they belong. She is passionate about creating inclusive school environments where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to pursue their goals.
Stacey is a National Certified Counselor and holds specialist credentials in Anxiety and Stress Management as well as School Counseling Leadership through the American School Counselor Association. A frequent speaker at conferences across the state and country, she shares insights on topics such as Latinx student success, multilingual learners, community engagement, and mental health. In 2023, she was named a LatinxEd Fellow and currently serves as President-Elect of the North Carolina School Counselor Association.
