Originally from Honduras and Costa Rica, she has taught students at all grade levels in both countries as well as in North Carolina. As one of the founding dual language teachers at Participate Learning’s first partnership school, Rocio helped lay the foundation for a thriving program that connects language and culture in the classroom.
She later served as an instructional specialist, supporting international Ambassador Teachers as they adapted to new schools and communities. Today, Rocio is the Manager of Instructional Support at Participate Learning, where she oversees teacher training, professional development, and adaptation. She leads a team of instructional specialists in North Carolina and Virginia, ensuring teachers are equipped to deliver high-quality instruction.
Rocio lives in Durham, NC, where her two sons attend a local public school, and she continues to advocate for Latine parents inclusion in her local school.
