
Vanessa L. Murphy-Rogers is a dedicated Multi-Classroom Teacher for Pitt County Schools. With almost a decade of experience in education, Vanessa has a strong background in teaching 8th grade English Language Arts (ELA) and has expanded her expertise within her current role, where she has co-taught 6th grade ELA, as well as 7th grade ELA, Science, and Social Studies.
In addition to teaching, Vanessa actively collaborates with state and county specialists, higher education professionals, and community representatives. Her collaborative efforts aim to increase literacy, foster professional collaboration among educators, and provide guidance to novice teachers on their path to success. Vanessa is also committed to promoting an equitable approach to teaching through the implementation of culturally sustaining pedagogy. Her current role allows her the opportunity to incorporate effective literacy instructional strategies and advocate for successful teaching practices across multiple disciplines and grade spans.
