My name is Leigh Jones and I am a passionate public educational leader who believes when all kids have access to high quality educational experiences and instruction, their life outcomes and opportunities are expanded and enhanced. Educational policy directly impacts a child’s access to increased and enhanced life outcomes.
- Former HS and MS principal; former MS assistant principal; taught K-5 physical education and high school physical education; coached HS girls varsity basketball.
- Known as ‘eeeeeee’ to Phoebe, boss, coach, aunt leigh, Jonesy, and mom to Calvin & Hobbes, Laverne and Shirley, and Archie and Tilley.
- Served as Executive Director of Secondary Curriculum, Area Superintendent, Director of Middle Schools, Chief Academic Officer (Secondary Schools), and Senior Director of Athletics at the central office level over the last 12 years.
- Coached and played Division 1 women’s basketball at Appalachian State University
- Officiated women’s basketball at the varsity high school, division 2, and division 3 levels.
