Lauren McDowell is the Education Services Program Manager for PBS North Carolina. A strong believer in accessible education, Lauren brings a rich experience and deep knowledge in inclusive learning environments. She is an experienced educator with a demonstrated history of working in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, and Children’s Media & Education Services. She holds a B.S. in Birth – Kindergarten Education from Campbell University; and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership Policy and Advocacy in Early Education from UNC-Wilmington. Lauren has served in a variety of impactful roles in early childhood education: Preschool Inclusion Specialist; Exceptional Children’s Preschool Itinerant Teacher; Early Intervention Therapist; Family Resource Program Coordinator; and an Early Childhood Parent and Provider Specialist. Prior to her position now she worked with PBS NC for over 5 years as a Master Teacher Trainer / Educational Consultant. Lauren most recently managed PBS NC’s inaugural Impact Early Childhood Education Summit and continues to develop opportunities for educators across the state of North Carolina.
