
Gloria Medina is the program director of the Appalachian College Advising Corps, which places recent college graduates in high schools throughout Western NC to serve as full-time college and next steps advisers. Gloria has also previously served as an assistant program director and a college adviser with the College Advising Corps. Gloria earned a BA in Journalism & Mass Communication from UNC-Chapel Hill and an M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration from NC State University. Gloria is a Morganton, NC native and has resided in North Carolina for most of her life. Her desire is for all students in rural Appalachia to have the support and resources to make well-informed decisions about their futures. Gloria resides in Granite Falls, NC with her husband and two-year-old son.
