Dr. TaVshea Smith is an educational leader originally born and raised in South Carolina. Dr. Smith currently serves as an elementary interventionist/intervention coordinator and an adjunct instructor in Raleigh, NC. She is an alumnus of Shaw University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Smith has experience teaching elementary, middle school, and college levels, educational consulting, grant writing, and collaborating with educational leaders to have conversations centered on educational equity, inclusive practices, and policy. She has a passion for helping all students reach their full potential, advocating for beginning teachers, and helping pre-service teachers blossom as educators.
