Dr. Gordon Burnette currently holds the position of Chief Communications Officer for Brunswick County Schools, having previously served in the same capacity for the Public Schools of Robeson County. Hailing from Lumberton, North Carolina, Dr. Burnette earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from North Carolina State University, a Master of Education in Education Administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and a Doctor of Education with a specialization in Higher Education Administration from East Carolina University.
Driven by a profound passion for education, particularly in rural regions of North Carolina, Dr. Burnette is looking forward to strengthening his knowledge and understanding of how policy influences the education landscape, both within our state and beyond. Dr. Burnette resides in Leland, NC, with his wife Amber, and their daughter Halle.
