Clinton Todd is on a mission to assure young people of their personal value and to provide opportunities and challenges for them to adopt that assurance as self-belief. His primary focuses in education have been to create welcoming and inclusive school environments, to amplify the voices of underrepresented populations, and to provide space for students to connect to the curriculum and to each other through exploration, creativity, and reflection. Clinton hopes that his time as the 2022 Burroughs Wellcome Fund Northeast Region Teacher of the Year and his work with EPFP will help to expand his capacity for student advocacy. Originally from Duplin County, Clinton received his undergraduate degree in Science Education from East Carolina University and is currently pursuing his graduate degree in School Administration/Curriculum and Instruction from the same institution. He taught biology and environmental science for Pitt County Schools for fifteen years, and he currently serves Northwest Elementary School in Greenville, NC as Dean of Students and STEM Coordinator. Outside of work, Clinton enjoys recharging by getting outside, going on adventures with friends and family, or attempting a new art project.
