I have wanted to be a part of EPFP for years and am so excited to have this opportunity. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, I taught in Moscow, Russia for a year before returning home to teach in the public school system. For 28 years, I have taught Social Studies, English, Yearbook, coached track, basketball, and cross country, and sponsored Student Government to thousands of students – including my own two children. After completing my masters, I continue to teach in the classroom but also advocate for teachers and students in other areas. Having taught in economically disadvantaged schools, I have witnessed the value of hope in improving and changing students’ lives. Our future depends on our schools and community teaming together to provide the opportunity for that hope.
