I am Amanda Coker, one of the 2022-2023 EPFP fellows. I am the assistant principal at Hayesville Middle School in Hayesville, North Carolina. This is my ninth year in education. I started my career at Hayesville Middle teaching 7th grade math for one year. I then taught 8th grade science for six years. The 2021-2022 school year was my first year as a school administrator.
I am from Murphy, North Carolina. I am a NBCT. I attended college and grad school at Western Carolina University, and I obtained a Post Master’s Certificate in Educational Leadership from Appalachian State University. I currently reside in Clay County, NC with my husband and nine-month-old daughter.
I look forward to networking with other EPFP fellows and learning more about the policy making process with this cohort.
