BSAC
BSAC (Basic School Age Care) is a 5 hour introductory level training event for school age care professionals that are new to the field. The training includes the following modules: 1) Quality Care, 2) Health, Safety, Nutrition, 3) Child Development, 4) Environmental Design, 5) Developmentally Appropriate Activities, and 6) Guiding Child Behavior. N.C. Licensing Regulations are woven throughout the session.
This training is required by the NC Division of Child Development for school age care professionals working in licensed programs but is a great training for new staff in any afterschool program setting.
All BSAC training events sponsored by Child Care Resource & Referral agencies are open to the public.
All Child Care Resource and Referral School Age Project staff that provide BSAC trainings meet the following minimum qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, K-6 Education, or Recreation and at least 3 years of management experience working with school age children, their families and the programs that serve them.
